“Having strong international relations depends on how we govern our country”

In his daily writing on Facebook, Minister Evarist Bartolo stated that the good name of our country does not depend on what we preach, but on how matters are handled by top government officials, referring to the Prime Minister and his Ministers who ultimately have the power in hand.

Evarist Bartolo, who is now the Minister responsible for International Affairs, put forward the questions on whether our country is against criminality, against murder, against corruption, against money laundering and against those who use Malta to hide their illegal economic activity.

“Enforcement, enforcement, enforcement,” Bartolo said is the only way forward if politicians are to be trusted. He added that having laws and institutions in place is not enough.

“We must ensure that persons are brought to justice irrespective of who they are and without fear” One perceives that Minister Bartolo’s comments are referring to the people being investigated and involved in the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
