Archbishop Charles Scicluna announced over the Church’s local social media that he will celebrate the First Holy Communion of Ella, who has autism.

A few days ago, it was reported that Ella had not received her First Holy Communion certificate as she did not ingest the Holy Eucharist.

During his video message, the Archbishop explained how during a meeting with Ella and her family, he could appreciate the hands-on approach that parents have on their children.  He also explained that he will be celebrating  Ella’s First Holy Communion whenever, and in a way that, it is convenient for her and her family.

The Archbishop also commented on the dedication that Ella’s parents have towards instilling the Christian faith in their children. He described it as “ a sign of great hope and courage for all those that belong to the family of Jesus Christ and the Church”.
