Archbishop Scicluna will lead Miriam Pace’s funeral

Archbishop Charles Scicluna will celebrate the life of Miriam Pace. The funeral will be held this afternoon at the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Valletta at 2 pm.

On Monday, Miriam Pace was found dead under the debris of her house that collapsed due to ongoing excavation works on an adjacent construction site, in Ħamrun.

On Wednesday, the Malta Developers Association directed all its members to refrain from construction works on the day of Miriam Pace’s funeral.

On Monday, the body of Miriam Pace was found under the debris of her house that collapsed due to ongoing excavation works on an adjacent site in Ħamrun. The search and rescue operation took more than eight hours. The body was located around 10 pm and extracted from under the debris half an hour later.

The accident happened in Joseph Abela Scolaro Road at around 2.15 pm on Monday.

Following this tragic incident, yesterday, Prime Minister Robert Abela announced that the government will appoint a committee to investigate and give an overview of the current construction sector in Malta.
