As mathematician Prof Josef Lauri continues to keep his eyes firmly fixed on published data, the trends he notes render him cautiously optimistic. “It is worth saying that if things go the way I am hoping then this spike would not be alarming but the way these phenomena behave,” said the numbers expert. Prof Lauri has been following the latest wave of coronavirus attentively and has accurately predicted the behaviour of the epidemic through the interpretation of statistics published by the government.
Prof Lauri noted that “As was to be expected by looking back at the past history of the epicurve, we are now on a spike. It is important now that this spike reaches its peak within a day or two at the most and that the numbers will then continue another downward trend. That would mean we are still on the right track”.
