Government MP Edward Zammit Lewis received €26,000 in a direct order for a 24-month advisory services to the Ministry for Energy and Water Management. This was published on the Government Gazzette on Tuesday.
The former tourism minister was also getting paid €100 an hour by Identity Malta for consultancy services. The information had emerged when Opposition MP Simon Busuttil asked for Zammit Lewis’ contract to be published. Zammit Lewis was on a six-month contract which could be extended as of April 2018. The MP was already paid another €26,000 from Identity Malta for “professional legal consultancy fees”.
The MP was also engaged as a Lands Authority legal representative in court for which he got paid €24,600.
