Two Mater Dei Hospital employees said that an ambulance was used by drunk youths as taxi service from Paceville last night.
One of the employees, Carl Abela, described yesterday’s shift in a Facebook post as challenging. He urged those who have a low alcohol tolerance to avoid excessive drinking.
Linked to the same case, a nurse, Daniel Said said in a Facebook post that the ambulances were called 70 times last night, with most cases involving drunk youths at Paceville who ended up at the emergency department for the rest of the night.
Last month, Charlton Caruana used a Facebook post to express his concern at the lack of respect ambulance workers are afforded.
