On Facebook, the PL MEP questioned if MAM’s reaction was to humiliate the government and if this was the sole reason it was stupid to act in such a manner. Alfred Sant said that there are other honest ways and means to tackle the situation by health professionals.

He also said that both the government and health authorities have committed certain fouls that could have been avoided.

In his post Sant also criticised the Labour government and said that it hard for one to understand how the government gave the go ahead for massive parties to be organised in Malta when other European countries refused for obvious health reasons in connection to COVID-19.

Alfred Sant said that there needs to be a balance between safeguarding the economy and the health of the public.
