Aid to the Church in Need is the brainchild of Fr Werenfried van Straaten who was very much aware of the difficulties families were facing and talked about them in every meeting or Congress he attended. In these difficulties he would see the future challenges of the Church.

The pastoral, humanitarian u soċial work that Fr Werenfried carried in his lifetime is now undertaken by his organisation with the same enthusiasm and dedication he showed. The organisation in fact is one of the sponsors of the International Family Congress 2018.
