AFM rescues 66 asylum seekers

A group of 66 asylum seekers were rescued in Maltese search and rescue region and brought to Haywharf, Floriana on Tuesday morning.

The rescue was carried out by the Armed Forces of Malta which brought the migrants to shore on board P52.

An earlier rescue on Monday night saw a group of 45 migrants brought over to Malta, among which there were women and children, including children under the age of five.

Tuesday’s group consists of only men, a spokeswoman for the Armed Forces of Malta told Newsbook.com.mt.
