AED installed at Victoria

An Automated External Defibrillators (AED) has been installed at St George’s Square in Victoria, Gozo.

In a statement the Minister for Gozo, Justyne Caruana, welcomed the request made by the Malta Cadets Corps to have more AEDs installed around the sister island.

A number of AEDs were also given to various schools in Gozo.

Speaking after the installation, Minister Caruana spoke about the need to raise more awareness on how AEDs are to be used. She highlighted the importance of installing defibrillators, which are portable devices that can check the heart rhythm and can restore with an electric shock in case of a cardiac arrest.
