Accused in Daphne case, escorted to private hospital

George Degiorgio, one of the three accused with murdering journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, has been rushed to a private hospital in Zabbar, news portal, Inews has reported.

Inews published a photo of Mr Degiorgio, cuffed and flanked by security officers, heading to the hospital.

The accused was suffering from ‘persistent and unendurable pain’ in his shoulder for a number of months.

Lawyer William Cuscheri had previously filed a judicial complaint on his behalf, regarding Degiorgio’s complaints over what he called inhumane treatment in prison.
