Prime Minister Robert Abela, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne, attended the Covid-19 Incident Command Group session at Mater Dei Hospital.
This group, set up in February, made up of several professionals, doctors and consultants gather immediate analysis of the current situation in the hospital. The aim of this information is to always be prepared for any eventuality.
Permanent members representing various departments form the core group while others join as deemed necessary. The Incident Command Group is also ensuring that hospital staff adapt to the needs, while ensuring that the service continues to be provided with professionalism.
Dr Abela and Mr Fearne visited the Department of Pathology where they saw how this department is working tirelessly to meet the normal health system tests as well as the tests related to Covid-19.
The Prime Minister thanked the team for their dedication to their work. The Deputy Prime Minister hinted at the importance to continue following the advice and measures of the health authorities so that our hospitals continue to offer service of excellence as patients are accustomed to receiving so far.
