Yesterday, the Government announced that care home residents who test positive for Covid-19 may soon be moved to a hospital, in order to keep the spread of the coronavirus in homes for the elderly under control.

The announcement came hours after the authorities confirmed that new Covid-19 cases have been reported at another care home, Casa San Paolo in St Paul’s Bay. A substantial number of cases have been reported at St Joseph Home in Fgura and Casa Antonia in Balzan.

Last Monday, a total of 113 residents at St Joseph’s Home for the elderly tested positive to coronavirus.
