A children’s plastic pollution adventure

Did you know that every item of plastic that has ever been created is still with us on the planet today?

In the mid-50’s we were told that plastic was suitable for single use and could simply be thrown away. We now know that to be untrue yet we continue to treat it as such.

Birdlife Malta is organising an event at the Salina Nature Reserve on Sunday 2nd August 2020 between 2.00 and 4.00 pm for children to learn more about plastic pollution and how you can help prevent more plastic reaching our environment – Earth’s Ekko, a 20-minute documentary aimed at children aged 10 and younger.

After the film, the reserve will hold activities to demonstrate to children the impacts of plastic pollution and the actions they can take to help the environment. Participation is free although donations are welcome.

Although this is a free event, spaces are limited to 20 families, so booking is essential. To book, you may click here.

Please book only if you intend to go, as spaces are limited. Booking will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. More information may be obtained from tel. no: 2134 7645 (Ext 503) or email: education@birdlifemalta.org.

In view of the removal of the COVID-19 restrictions from Wednesday 15th July 2020 and unless restrictions are reintroduced, we are holding this event. Every precaution recommended by the authorities will be followed and the premises will be cleaned before and after the event. If you have any concerns you may email: education@birdlifemalta.org.
