98 turtles hatched at Gnejna bay on Wednesday night.
This was announced by the non-governmental organisation Nature Trust Malta in a Facebook post. The eggs were laid on the 25th June.
Nature Trust Malta and the Environment and Resource Authority (ERA) had worked around the clock to protect the nest.
This was the second time in recent history that a turtle laid eggs and hatched, the last time being in 2016 when 66 eggs had hatched.
