95 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported overnight, while 30 patients have been deemed to have made a full recovery.
The number of active cases stands at 768.
The new cases were identified through 2,529 swab tests, which bring the total number of swab tests in Malta up to 280,155.
On Saturday, Malta registered 100 new cases, the second-highest daily tally since the first case was detected in March. The highest number of cases was recorded on 16 September.
There have been 3,776 coronavirus cases in Malta since the start of the pandemic. While 2,967 have since recovered, the pandemic has claimed 41 lives.
The cases reported on Sunday remain under investigation.
From the 100 cases reported on Saturday, 31 patients were family members of previously known cases, nine patients contracted the virus from work colleagues, five were patients of direct contacts of other positive cases and two were from social gathering with other positive cases. 53 cases have been unaccounted for.
