80-year-old woman succumbs to Covid-19

The health authorities have reported the death of an 80-year-old woman who had tested positive for Covid-19, the 62nd death linked to the pandemic in Malta.

The woman had been admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on 9 October, and her Covid-19 diagnosis was confirmed four days later.

She continued receiving treatment at the hospital, where she died late on Friday.

The Health Ministry reiterated its appeal to the public to continue following the recommendations of the health authorities, “so that together we can make a difference in the face of the spread of Covid-19.
