8 Franciscan Novices in Assisi test positive for coronavirus

The newly-arrived novices were from France, Malta and Croatia

8 Franciscan Novices have tested positive for coronavirus in Assisi, according to a report by ANSA.it.

It is also being reported that the novices had arrived from France, Malta and Croatia.

A number of Franciscan monks have also tested positive.

The Novices together with the monks are currently isolated at the main convent which includes the basilica where the Saint Francis is buried.

A spokesperson for the convent added that all are in good health and that visits to the basilica were not affected.
