77-year-old man is Malta’s 50th Covid-19 victim

A 77-year-old man who had tested positive for Covid-19 has died overnight; he is the 50th victim of the pandemic in Malta to date.

The Health Ministry reported that the man, who lived in an unnamed care home, tested positive for Covid-19 on 13 October, and continued to receive treatment at the residence. The ministry also observed that he had other chronic health conditions.

Whilst offering its condolences to his loved ones, the ministry appealed to the public to continue following the recommendations of the health authorities, including social distancing, the wearing of facemasks and regular hand-washing.
