The Nationalist Party’s leadership election officially takes place tomorrow, but over three-quarters of eligible voters have cast their vote in five days of early voting.
A further 9% of eligible voters cast their vote today, bringing the turnout so far up to 76%, the party’s electoral commission has confirmed.
According to the commission, 21,499 paid-up members of the party are eligible to vote in the election, which pits incumbent Adrian Delia against Bernard Grech.
Early voting was held on Friday and Saturday last week, and from Wednesday to Friday.
Votes are to be counted on Saturday night after the party’s polling sites close, with the winner likely to be declared that same day.
