615 pickpocketing cases in Sliema throughout 2017

In 2017, 615 cases of pickpocketing were reported in Sliema, the most common crime in this locality, every year since 2013.

Until May of this year, there 102 instances of pickpocketing were reported. The largest number of these offenses was recorded in 2016, with 657 cases.

These details were given in Parliament by Minister of Interior and National Security Michael Farrugia in response to a question by PN deputy Karol Aquilina.

Last year, 50 cases of theft were reported from residences in Sliema and 56 cases were reported from the surrounding beaches.
