A total of 55 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed overnight after2,194 swab tests were carried out, the health authorities reported on Monday.
The total number of active cases has now reached 680, with 43 patients having made a recovery overnight.
The cases are still being investigated.
The total number of swab tests carried out since the start of the pandemic is now 175,470.
The 55 new cases bring the total number of coronavirus cases reported in Malta up to 1667, with a total of 977 patients making a recovery. The pandemic has claimed ten lives, with the latest coronavirus-related death being registered on Friday morning.
The figures do not include the asylum seekers who have reached Malta by boat and have subsequently tested positive.
