PC Joseph Muscat is 54 year-old who died of COVID-19

His family members confirmed with Newsbook.com.mt that Muscat had no underlying health conditions


The health ministry has reported the death of another Covid-19 patient, that of a 54-year-old male.

The total number of victims has now reached 71.

The man contracted the virus on the 25th of October, on the day he was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital. He was receiving treatment at the ITU department.

The Ministry for Health said in its statement that the man had other underlying conditions, however, a member of his family who has contacted Newsbook.com.mt said that he was a healthy man and that it is not true he was suffering from other health conditions apart from coronavirus.

The 71st victim is Joseph Muscat, a Police Officer. Family, friends and colleagues have posted on social media saying they are shocked with the news. One family member of Muscat said that in a span of two weeks they lost two family members due to Coronavirus.

This morning health authorities announced the death of a 75-year-old man. He was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on the 3rd of November and tested positive to coronavirus on the 4th of November.

The Ministry for Health said the man had underlying conditions.
