52 migrants in Maltese SAR, govt refusing to communicate with NGO – Alarm Phone

52 migrants are reported to be in distress and in the Maltese SAR zone according to the humanitarian NGO Alarm Phone.

On Twitter the NGO said that the migrants left the Libyan coast 2 days ago and do not have food or water left.

Alarm Phone said that the Maltese government is refusing to communicate with the NGO regarding the situation of the migrants.

The migrants who have communicated with the NGO said that the boat engine has stopped working and that they need immediate help as the weather conditions are getting worse.
