Minister for Health Chris Fearne said that a year ago today, 450 people were admitted to Mater Dei Hospital suffering from influenza. He said this yesterday, at the Floriana Health Centre, on the day that the vaccine against influenza will be given for free.
In statement, Minister for Health explained that for the next 15 days, the vaccine will be given to the rest of the vulnerable people. In November, the vaccine will be available for everyone.
Minister Chris Fearne explained that influenza was very strong last year, and affected 17% of the population. He also claimed that around 100,000 vaccines have been ordered at the cost of €260,000.
