36th aviation operator will be certified in the coming weeks -Minister Borg

The Aviation Directorate will be issuing a certificate to another air operator in the coming weeks. This is the 36th Air Operator Certificate that the entity within Transport Malta will be releasing.

This was announced by Transport Minister Ian Borg during a conference organised by the Malta Aviation Outlook. He also talked about the importance of connectivity and added that Malta has recently endorsed agreements with Japan, South Korea, Ghana and the Ivory Coast and is currently discussing future agreements with a number of countries in South America, including Brazil.

During his contribution Minister Borg mentioned how the aviation sector is contributing towards 2,5% of our gross domestic product and has created over 3,200 employment opportunities.
