The European Parliament Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection voted in favour of more conformity and enforcement of rules in order to ensure better checks and safety of goods in the EU on Monday.

The legislative proposals aim to prevent unsafe products from being sold to EU consumers. According to the report 32% of toys, 58% of electronic devices, 47% of construction products and 40% of personal protective equipment inspected failed to meet the safety or consumer information requirements as per EU laws.
