A total of 31 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed overnight, after 2,310 swab tests were carried out, the health authorities reported on Saturday.
The total number of active cases has now reached 666, with 47 patients having made a recovery overnight.
The cases are still being investigated, the health authorities have reported in an infographic.
From the cases reported on Friday, eight cases were family members of previously known cases, three were direct contacts of known cases, two cases were work colleagues of positive cases and one case was linked to the Paceville cluster.
The total number of swab tests carried out since the start of the pandemic is now 171,103.
The 31 new cases bring the total number of coronavirus cases reported in Malta up to 1,577, with a total of 901 patients making a recovery. The pandemic has claimed ten lives, with the latest coronavirus-related death being registered on Friday morning.
The figures do not include the asylum seekers who have reached Malta by boat and have subsequently tested positive.
