3 messages from the Pope on laughter and carnival

Tista' taqra bil- Malti.

Only a few more hours left before the end of carnival for 2020 and the start of lent.

One does not usually expect the Pope himself to speak about carnival. Nonetheless, throughout the years, Pope Francis showed how laughter and humor are important to him.

What did the Pope say?

  •  “Humour is a gift that I pray for daily because it lift your spirits and shows you that life is short” (TV2000, 20th November 2016)
  • “Laughter is the best medicine to overcome all temptations of feeling important and ignoring others” (Peru, 22nd January 2018)
  • “To learn how to laugh at ourselves gives us the spiritual ability to appear in front of God not only with our successes, but also with our limitations, sins and mistakes” (Perù, 22nd January 2018)
