Malta registered 240 new coronavirus cases overnight, the health authorities announced on Tuesday.
The new cases were detected following 3,354 swab tests.
80 individuals have recovered. 2,519 cases remain active.
To date, the pandemic has claimed 234 lives.
From the cases detected on Monday:
- 42 family members of individuals that tested positive;
- 11 work colleagues of individuals that tested positive;
- 6 individuals who were in direct contact with individuals who tested positive;
- 11 from a social gathering
