23 new Covid-19 cases reported as 78 recover

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Malta stands at 462 with 23 new cases and 78 recoveries reported.

The new cases were identified through 2,211 swab tests, which bring the total number of swab tests carried out in Malta to almost 254,000.

From the cases announced yesterday 7 cases were family members of previously known cases, 2 cases were imported, 1 from the St Joseph Home cluster, 2 cases were direct contacts of other positive cases, 1 from work colleague, 1 from Paceville cluster and 3 related to social gatherings.

The pandemic has claimed 34 lives in Malta so far.
