224 new Covid-19 cases; 1,845 cases remain active

Malta registered 224 new coronavirus cases overnight, the health authorities announced on Wednesday.

The new cases were detected following 3,365 swab tests.

80 individuals have recovered. 1,845 cases remain active.

To date, the pandemic has claimed 227 lives.

From the cases detected yesterday:

  • 32 family members of individuals that tested positive;
  • 10 work colleagues of individuals that tested positive;
  • 20 individuals who were in direct contact with individuals who tested positive;
  • 12 from a social gathering
