2,120 active cases as 121 new coronavirus cases detected

Malta has 2,120 active cases after 121 new infections were detected in the last 24 hours.

The new infections were detected after 2,955 swab tests were carried out.

There were 122 new recoveries registered.

On Friday, 5 new fatalities were reported until the evening. The pandemic has claimed 95 lives.

From the 150 cases reported on Friday 111 remain unaccounted for as the health authorities have traced 39 to:

  • 25 family members of positive cases
  • 9 work colleagues of individuals who have tested positive
  • 5 individuals who were in direct contact of a positive case
