In a Facebook post a former resident of Dar Osanna Pia shared his story which started 25 years ago. He chronicles how he landed in Malta on his way to Holland after leaving his home country penniless and without a plan. In Malta he ended up arrested with a group of young people that have given him food and shelter and how after three lonely months in prisons a group of students and a Salesian priest helped him acquire his freedom.
The man also explained how he was welcomed by Salesian community who cared and furthered his education until he could be self-sufficient. Nowadays, he is a happy husband and father living in comfort and able to help his own brothers in his country of origin.
