191 new COVID-19 cases; 77 more recover

The Ministry for Health announced that 191 new coronavirus cases were detected in the past 24 hours.

The infections were detected following 3,639 swab tests.

The number of active cases now stand at 2,047 as 77 made a recovery.

To date, the pandemic has claimed 230 lives following the death of two more elderly, announced on Friday.

The first case announced; an 84-year-old woman who tested positive on Christmas day, died at Mater Dei Hospital and a 77-year-old woman who died at St Vincent De Paul. She tested positive on the 10th of December.
