Malta has registered 189 coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours following 3,405 swab tests, the health authorities announced on Wednesday. The number of cases went down by 51 infections from the previous day.
2,601 cases remain active following 107 recoveries.
To date, the pandemic has claimed 234 lives.
The health authorities have traced 81 cases from the 240 infections reported on Tuesday.
- 45 family members of individuals who tested positive;
- 15 work colleagues of individuals who tested positive;
- 6 individuals were in direct contact with other positive cases;
- 15 from a social gathering.
159 remain unaccounted for.
