133 new Covid-19 cases detected; death toll at 117

Malta has registered 133 coronavirus cases on Tuesday following 2,664 swab tests.

The pandemic has so far claimed 117 lives with the health authorities reporting four coronavirus-related deaths on Monday.

2,082 cases remain active after 107 made a recovery.

So far 55 cases have been traced from the 80 reported on Monday, with 25 remaining unaccounted for.

The cases have been traced to:

  • 16 family members of individuals who tested positive;
  • 5 work members of individuals who tested positive;
  • 3 individuals who were in direct contact with positive cases;
  • a case was from a social gathering
