125 new coronavirus cases

125 new coronavirus cases were reported by the health authorities on Sunday following 3,285 swab tests.

Earlier during the day, the health authorities reported that an 82-year-old man who had symptoms associated with coronavirus tested positive postmortem.

The number of active cases now stands at 1,880 after 89 made a recovery.

Of the 115 cases reported on Saturday, the health authorities have traced 56 cases as follows: 46 individuals were family members of previously known cases, six cases were contacts of positive work colleagues, two cases were direct contacts with other positive cases, a case was from the Paceville cluster while another one was imported. The rest have not been traced yet.

To date, Malta has registered 5,498 coronavirus infections while the pandemic has claimed 51 lives out of which six were registered only this week.
