121 new coronavirus cases; 1,856 active

Malta has registered 121 new coronavirus cases on Saturday following 3,033 swab tests. 1,856 remain active as 144 recovered.

To date, 166 fatalities have been registered by the health authorities.

From the 96 cases announced on Friday, the health authorities have traced 43 cases. These were traced as follows:

  • 19 family members of individuals who had tested positive;
  • 14 work colleagues of individuals who had tested positive;
  • 8 individuals who were in direct contact with positive patients;
  • 2 from a social gathering.

53 cases thus remain unaccounted for.
