The number of active cases of Covid-19 has gone up to 1,770 after 121 new cases were reported by the health authorities overnight.
In their latest daily bulletin, the authorities also reported 55 new recoveries.
The new cases were identified through 2,685 swab tests, which bring the total number of tests carried out in Malta so far up to 311,475 .
There have been 5,258 known cases of Covid-19 in Malta since the start of the pandemic, with 3,439 since recovering. However, the pandemic has claimed 49 lives in Malta to date.
Superintendent for Public Health Charmaine Gauci is set to elaborate on the Covid-19 situation in her weekly briefing on Friday afternoon.
