109 new coronavirus registered as six recover

A total of 109 coronavirus cases were reported by the health authorities on Monday, after 2,561 swab tests were carried out in the past 24 hours.

The total number of active cases stands at 1,450 as only six individuals were declared to have made a recovery.

To date, 4,737 coronavirus cases have been recorded in Malta.

The cases reported on Monday are still under investigation, while from the 142 cases recorded on Sunday 70 cases have not be accounted for. The rest have been traced to family clusters (40), work cluster (17), direct contacts (7), social gatherings (6) while two were imported.

The pandemic has claimed 45 lives.
