Malta has registered 106 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, from the previous day.
The infections were detected after the health authorities carried out 2,626 swab tests.
1,872 remain active after 128 made a recovery.
To date, the pandemic has claimed 164 lives, with four more fatalities being registered in the last 24 hours.
From the 79 cases detected on Wednesday, 57 have been traced. 22 remain unaccounted for.
The cases which have been traced are:
- 44 individuals who are family members of persons who already tested positive
- 11 work colleagues of individuals who had tested positive
- 2 individuals were in direct contact with positive cases
