In all, 106 immigrants, including a pregnant woman, sail into Messina’s port in Sicily.

Initial investigations indicate the rescue took place between the 4th and 5th of July, a few hours after the dingy the immigrants were aboard left from Garabghouli in Libya.

An Irish military ship Samuel Beckett spotted and saved the immigrants in Libyan territorial seas, and later asked the Italian authorities for permission to put into Italy.

Italian Interior MinisterMatteo Salvini said he will continue his struggle to stop these ships from sailing into Italian ports.
