104-year-old Colombian engineer Lucio Chiquito has completed his doctoral thesis at the University of Manchester (UK).

Speaking to CNN (Spanish), Chiquito says he took advantage of the pandemic to finish off an investigation that has taken him over 30 years. His goal was to find a methodology to calculate the maximum flow of a river.

Chiquito, who graduated from the School of Mining Engineering in 1941, will become one of the oldest people in history to earn his doctorate.
