The number of swab tests carried out in Gozo until the 4th of May amounted to 2,021, as explained by the Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne in his reply to a Parliamentary question by PN MP Kevin Cutajar.
Minister Fearne explained yesterday in Parliament that the first swab test in Gozo was carried out on the 3rd of March and that such tests are increasing on a daily basis.
During the past month, around 100 swab tests were being carried out in Gozo.
Minister Fearne also explained that the test analysis in laboratories is the same as the one followed in Malta and that samples are regularly transferred to Malta from Gozo during the day.
According to the information provided by the Superintendent for Public Health Prof. Charmaine Gauci, during the daily press briefings, in Gozo 21 people had contracted coronavirus and two people died after contracting the virus.
